The colloquium for Philosophy in the MENA region (PhiloMENA) invites to the upcoming round table with Dr. Abdulrahman al-Salimi on his new book “Arab philosophical trends: Responses to modernity” (Edinburgh Univ. Pr. 2024).

Dr. Abdulrahman al-Salimi is board member of the German University of Technology in the Sultanate of Oman. His research expertise includes Omani maritime history, history of Islam with special interest on Ibadi texts, theology and political thought. In this round table, al-Salimi will talk about his recently published book Arab Philosophical Trends: Responses to Modernity (Edinburgh University Press 2024) which deals with the plurality of 20^th century Arabic philosophical orientations regarding modernization and reception of Western philosophy.

The round table takes place online on 20.01.2024, 6-8 pm (Berlin time)
